New Music Canada Track of the Day for August 7, 2007: A.M. “Boom Snap Clap”
Some people say that in old age you experience a second childhood. I must be ahead of the curve, because I think it's happening to me now.
I'm doing things as an adult that I never really tried as a kid. I've taken a couple of breakdancing workshops, I'm always trying to round up a few friends for a session of double-dutch skipping, and lately I've taken to running through the sprinkler.
Which might be part of the reason why I love the A.M. song Boom Snap Clap so much - it's super upbeat, kids are chanting the lyrics, and there are moves!!!
I have to thank R3 host Tariq for the tip, or more accurately, his 10- and 12-year old nieces, who were trying to teach him how to Boom, Snap & Clap on his last visit to London, Ontario.
Andrew Moore, who makes music as A.M., is also a 4th grade teacher in Toronto, and I get the feeling he can Boom, Snap, Clap with the best of them.
Sadly, as a fake kid, I'm learning the moves through YouTube clips, but I am getting better, and I practice every time I hear this song.
